　　i think in this case both "lounge" and "room" can be used and a "mother‘s lounge" has a clearer meaning than a "mother‘s room", which could mean literally someone‘s mother‘s room. u r absolutely right that "lounge" may refer to a waiting room in a hotel or airport and precisely because of it, it‘s a special purpose (and somewhat privileged) room. my understanding of the Chinese term 母婴室 is such a "private/privileged" lounge IN a public area for breast-feeding purpose, just like the VIP lounge for those frequent travelers at the airport. ^o^
